Plant It Forward needed a website that highlighted their network of farmers’ work and produce, was easily navigable for volunteers and donors, responsive for mobile devices, and provided information to customers about their enterprise programs.


Process

To start, I worked with staff to determine their goals for the website. I also met with volunteers and customers to determine potential user goals. Then, using current content on their existing website (pictured below) and updated copy provided by staff, I developed hierarchy for the content and a site map.


Responsive Design

Using WordPress, I designed the website to be aesthetically appealing with a simple navigation that showcased the Plant It Forward network farmers and their produce. Each page uses anchor points linked to a submenu on the main navigation to reduce fatigue from scrolling and provide a clear and precise path for users to find information.
