As an AmeriCorps Volunteer in Service to America (VISTA) at Plant It Forward Farms in Houston, Texas, one of my goals was to visually document produce from the farm year round for the nonprofit to use for current and future marketing collateral and social media. Unlike most of the United States, Houston has a year round growing season so the farmers were harvesting new crops every week. Plant It Forward specializes in produce from network farmers’ homelands in the global south. This is only a small selection of the hundreds of photos I took on the farm, in the Food Hub, the farmers market, and from the Farm Share.
