For this project, I wanted to inform people about modern Assyrian culture and food. Many people have heard of the ancient Assyrian empire, but most do not know that Assyrian culture is thriving all over the world today.
I used a blocky typeface (Chuck) to mimic the bricks used to make ancient Assyrian buildings. I used Bodoni because of the high contrast of its stroke width to represent the centuries of change the Assyrian people have experienced. Finally, I used Scala Sans because it complemented Bodoni well and is a clean sans-serif that lends to this interactive PDF’s contemporary feel.
“Assyrian History and Food” includes information about ancient Assyria, modern Assyrians, and recipes that are still used today.
